Events in 2008

This page describes events organised by the Deanery for Clergy and Officers of the church.  Please assume that entry is by invitation only. 

Clergy Chapters will start at 1 pm with an informal lunch and then prayers (led by person named in brackets). They end at 3 pm.  Please bring you own lunch unless otherwise indicated.  Chapter meetings will normally be held in The Minster Rooms, Ilminster unless otherwise specified.

12-14  Bishops’ Visit to Deanery

13        Deanery Conversation with Bishops & Service, Chard St Mary

14        Chapter with Bishops, Stocklinch Village Hall (Geoff Wade)

(NB a week early because of Bishops’ visit)

18        Evensong for the Deanery, Dowlish Wake, 6.30pm

19        Archdeacon’s Visitation, S Petherton, 6 pm (service at 7 pm)

21        Deanery Standing and Pastoral Committee, Minster Rooms, Ilminster, 12 noon

JUNE

15        Evensong for the Deanery, West Hatch, 6.30pm

2          Diocesan Synod, Wells (evening session)

Meeting commences with Evening Office at 6.30 pm

20        Evensong for the Deanery, Forde Abbey, 3.30pm

AUGUST

SEPTEMBER

17        Chapter, Swanwick (at clergy conference)

28        Deanery Confirmation, Shepton Beauchamp, 10.30am

OCTOBER

15        Deanery Standing and Pastoral Committee, Minster

           Rooms, Ilminster, 12 noon

18        Diocesan Synod, Wells

21/22 Clergy & Readers retreat (24hr) at Warminster

NOVEMBER

3          Deanery Synod, Ilminster, 7.30 pm

19        Evening Chapter, Ilminster Vicarage, 7.30 pm  with John Careswell

DECEMBER

17        Chapter, Minster Rooms, with The Archdeacon
